SAFS were joined by His Worshipful the Mayor, Cllr. Derek Rowley, his Consort, Cllr. Glenis Rowley, the Leader of Sandwell Council, Cllr. Darren Cooper and the Deputy Leader, Cllr. Mahboob Hussain, to recognise, celebrate and support SAFS' new brand and logo; as well as the work they carry out in the local community.

The Chair of SAFS, Surrinder Bains welcomed the crowd of over 100 people made up of members of local dignitaries, organisations and businesses, thanking them for joining SAFS at the very beginning of something refreshing in Sandwell.

Parpinder K. Dhatt, CEO of SAFS, highlighted how the organisation had developed and evolved over the years; underpinning why a change of brand and logo was needed: in order for SAFS to increase the services they provide as well as expand geographically.

The brand and logo was set into motion by local graphic designer, Madison Shackell-York, how explained her concept surrounding the logo. For more on this, see a further blog post entitled 'New SAFS Brand and Logo'.

Rajwinder K. Basra, who uses SAFS' Parents and Carers group and whose daughter uses the SAFS Out of School Club, twice a week, shared her journey with SAFS and experiences that have made her the woman she is today. Her story is emotional, real and raw and had the crowd listening in silence.

Once the presentation had finished, a light lunch was provided and networking took place. A photo booth was enjoyed by plenty and a care worker showed off her handy work by offering to do mehndi patterns.
